Elders’ Day was celebrated on Monday April 11, 2017 at Nirmalapadav. The programme associated with Elders’ Day began with Holy Eucharistic Mass. The Eucharistic mass was celebrated by main celebrant Rev. Fr. Vincent Lobo, Parish Priest.
Rev. Fr. Vincent Lobo preached an inspiring homily. Elders are of great value and have much to impart to us, he said.
Soon after the mass, refreshments were served for the gathering. The chief guest and Resource person of the day was Mrs. Pushpa, Staff Nurse in Primary Health Centre, Irvathur. She spoke on the topic Diabetes, Blood Pressure, and also the joint aches in the old age. She explained how to overcome these problems.
In total 26 elders of the parish participated. Elder’s day was organized jointly by Family Commission and Catholic Sabha. Fr. Vincent Lobo graced prayers on the meal.
At Last delicious meal was served to the elders and those who accompanied them. The food was prepared by the Catholic Sabha and Family Commission members.
Elders are the treasure of the parish who have been responsible in preserving and passing on the faith to next generations.
