Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Church at Nirmalpadau celebrated Feast of Mary, Mother of God on Dec 31st 2016.
This celebration reminds us that the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God, is also our Heavenly Mother.
The New Year celebration began with Night Vigil, Holy Eucharistic adoration conducted by Rev Fr Vincent Lobo, Parish Priest.
New Year Solemn Mass began at 7.00 p.m., the main celebrant was Rev Fr Ivan, Pune, along with concelebrant Rev Fr Vincent Lobo.
Rev Fr Ivan, in his homily preached "Today’s Feast of Mary, the Mother of God is a very appropriate way to begin a New Year. All mothers want their children to inherit or acquire their good qualities."
After the Mass, Fr Ivan unveiled the Church Magazine Nirmal 2017 along with Editorial Committee of the Magazine.
Rev Fr Vincent Lobo, in his thank giving wished all the parishioners a Happy New Year 2017 and thanked all the members of editorial committee for their efforts in bringing out this magazine. Also he remembered all the sponsors.
Hence, our ideal motto for the New Year 2017 was “Through Mary to Jesus!". This is an occasion to renew our devotion to Mary, who is also Mother of the Church.
