A Day in the Rain (Mariyalad Onji Dina) inter religious programme held at Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Nirmalpadav.
It was a great historic day for the Nirmalapadav parishioners. For the first time under the aegis of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Church Nirmalpadav, the Parish Council and ICYM Commission organised "A Day in the Rain" program for parishioners and inter regilion people on Sunday, 17th July 2016 in the lush green farmland named "Pulukula" in the middle of landscape. While the local elders gathered around the decorated courtyard to view this historical event.
Rev Fr. Vincent Lobo, the Parish Priest of Nirmalpadav with his efforts and under his key guidance took this program towards success. He explained the purpose of this programme to audience that was being held to mark the occasion that speak of harmony peace and brotherhood among the religions.
The stage program began at 10 am sharp in the morning, Mr Prakash welcomed the dignitaries to the dias. Stage programme began with the Prayer song conducted by Ms. Rinet Pinto and team. Mr. Sanjiv Pujari was the Chief Guest of this auspicious event. Mrs Hema and Mr. Ganesh members of Nitte Grama Panchayat were the dignitaries. Rev Fr Vincent Lobo, Parish Priest of Nirmalapadav; Mrs Precilla Lobo, Vice President; Mr Simon Dsouza, Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council; Mr Viraj Saldanha, ICYM President - were also present. Mr Prakash compered the program.
The "A Day in the Rain" event was inaugurated by the chief guest Mr. Sanjeeva Pujari by pouring the unbeaten rice to the Jar in the old tulunadu tradition manner.
After the stage programme, the variety of events was conducted for the parishioners and other religion people such as Rickshaw Race, Relay, Uppudamudi, Paaledhagobbu, tug of war, kambala race etc. All men, women and the children's of the parish participated in the events conducted by youth members. Lot of spectators supported the participants.
Mr Sanjeev Pujari was felicitated by dignitaries for his generosity showing towards the Nirmalapadav parishioners by providing a lush green farmland located in the middle of the landscape.
Mr Arun Dsilva conducted the game events in well manner, Ms. Joslin Lobo, treasurer; Ms. Melita Preethi Lobo, PRO of ICYM - compered the whole event in Registration counter. At the end a delicious lunch was served for the people gathered.
Mr Melwyn Rohith D'souza and Ms. Anisha Dsouza sport secretaries of ICYM were thanked for their efforts to this event. Mr Rony supported by playing a key role for Electronics sound systems. Mr Maxi Fernandes was specially thanked for preparing the delicious food for this event.
In this way this event was added as a historic page to the Nirmalapadav parishioners.
