June 19, 2016: Vanamahotsava (the planting of trees) was held at Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Church, Nirmalapadav, Nitte.
The short program of "Vanamahotsava 2016" was organised in well manner by Social Development Welfare Commission of the Parish.
After the Obligation Mass, the Parishioners, Commission Members along with Parish Priest Rev Fr. Vincent Lobo were gathered near the grotto to plant the trees.
Rev Fr Vincent Lobo addressing to the people explained briefly the importance of Vanamahotsava. The Coordinator of the Commission Mr. Arun D’Silva was also present.
Vanamahotsava festival educates the awareness of trees among people and portrays the need of planting and tending of trees, as trees are one of the best ways to prevent global warming and reduce pollution.
